Smart Plumbing and Heating Systems can Improve Your House's Value PDF Print E-mail

During the last twelve months house prices in the United Kingdom dropped by around fifteen percent. This means that, even if a house is sold, it is most likely sold at a loss. For decades, United Kingdom residents have purchased real estate with the idea that its value would continue to appreciate infinitely. Now the opposite seems true - unless homeowners find a way to significantly raise the value of their homes. One of the best ways to do this is to upgrade the heating and plumbing systems of a house.

Homeowners in the UK have grown increasingly enamoured with environmentally friendly upgrades. This type of "green" upgrade includes installing solar panels on a house and investing in a water heater that is energy efficient. The installation of solar panels can decrease a house's energy costs and reduce CO2 emissions of the house by half a tonne each year that the panels are installed.

These panels increase the value of a house and simultaneously reduce the environmental impact of the house. An energy efficient water heater will impress all home buyers. The energy efficient water heater ensures that one's bath and shower always have hot water.

Another house upgrade that home owners may consider investing in is underfloor heating. Underfloor heating can be done with wet or dry pipe systems which transfer the heat through the floor of a house into the rooms above it. This keeps the room at a uniform temperature without forcing house owners to rely on a wall-hung radiator or a other types of units.

Underfloor heating is more affordable than traditional heating systems because it is more efficient. Recently underfloor heating's market share has risen, which means that installing underfloor heating can improve the value of a house by quite a lot

Other upgrades a house owner should consider include upgrading the kitchen and bathrooms of a house. There are a great many ways that these rooms can be upgraded that will considerably raise the value of one's house. Using modern fixtures and ensuring that the flooring is new will certainly raise the value of a home considerably. Installing new cabinets and light fixtures is another upgrade that home buyers will appreciate.

The unpredictability of the housing market has caused the value of a house to be based more on the decisions made by the house's owner. Heating and cooling system upgrades as well as installing efficient and modern plumbing systems are just two methods one can use to increase the value of a house. Underfloor heating and other green technologies are two very reliable ways to make a house more valuable, and raise the asking price when selling homes on the real estate market.
